RINDGE, N.H. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped its first dual matches of the season on Friday at Franklin Pierce. The Camels first fell to Babson by a 6-3 score before coming up short by an 8-1 decision versus the host Ravens.

The Camels got their first point against Babson from the top doubles spot, as senior Guillermo Garcia Rincon (Cáceres, Spain) teamed up with sophomore Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.) for an 8-4 victory over Markus Nordby and Maxwell Conlin.

Juniors SangJin Song (Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) and Zachary Danz (West Tisbury, Mass.) were also victorious individually for the Camels in singles matches which needed three sets to be decided against the Beavers. Song triumphed by scores of 6-2, 4-6, and 6-3 from the No. 3 position, while Danz rallied to earn a thrilling win at No. 6 by marks of 3-6, 6-3, and 1-0 (10-8).

In a match that ended around midnight, the Camels got their lone point against Franklin Pierce at No. 3 singles. Leading 4-1 at the time, Song defeated Nkrumah Patrick by retirement.

Connecticut College (0-2) wrapped up its fall season after competing in three tournaments as well as two dual matches and will resume competing during the spring semester.
