MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Battling against a national championship contender on the road, the Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to No. 2 Middlebury on Sunday afternoon in Vermont.

The Camels got their two points from the No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles positions in tightly-contested matches. Junior Guillermo Garcia Rincon (Cáceres, Spain) and senior Will Cannon (Fairfield, Conn.) paired up to earn an 8-7 victory over Weston Brach and David Vilys, while freshman Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.) outlasted Vilys by set scores of 3-6, 6-4, and 11-9.

Connecticut College (5-6, NESCAC 0-4) will continue an eight-game road trip when it visits Babson on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m.
