MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's squash team split its matches in consolation rounds of the NESCAC Championships on Saturday. The Camels first defeated Colby, 6-3, before falling just short against Hamilton by a 5-4 decision.
Sophomore Lili Vazquez (Chicago, Ill.) sealed the win for the Camels over the Mules by earning a convincing 3-0 victory over D'Arcy Carlson at the No. 6 position by set scores of 11-3, 11-3, and 11-2. Senior Margaret Davey (Groton, Mass.), Mikayla Waterhouse (Scarsdale, N.Y.), and junior Noelle Giuliano (McLean, Va.) also made notable contributions by defeating both of their opponents. Davis Lemay (Harwich Port, Mass.), meanwhile, rallied from two sets down to defeat her opponent from Hamilton at the No. 2 spot by scores of 5-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-9, and 11-9.
Connecticut College (10-11), which is currently ranked 25th in the country, will next compete at CSA Nationals later in February.
