Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame
Amy Newman ’12 finished her career as one of the most decorated players in Connecticut College women’s volleyball history. A three-time All-NESCAC honoree, she was instrumental in leading the Camels to four straight NESCAC tournament appearances—including a semifinals berth in 2009—and an overall record of 77-34.
In her senior season, Newman earned AVCA Third Team All-America honors, finishing with 362 kills, fourth-most in Conn history for a single season. She concluded her impressive collegiate career as the program leader in total kills with 1,335 and earned All-America and All-New England status three times.
Newman served as the president of both the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Mathematics Department Student Advisory board, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Following graduation, she coached volleyball for a number of years and works on the trade desk at Wedbush. She currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif.
