Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame
The second honorary member of the Connecticut College Hall of Fame, Sally Smith LaPointe ’56 coached field hockey and lacrosse at Bowdoin College from 1972-1992 and helped pioneer the development of an intercollegiate varsity athletics program for women.

In 19 seasons as head coach the field hockey and lacrosse teams, she compiled a record of 219-180-13 for a .547 winning percentage.
