Sam Gill ’14 is one of the most decorated swimmers in the history of Connecticut College. A 12-time NCAA All-American with 11 NESCAC Championship titles to his credit, he earned all-conference honors in each of his four seasons, owned school records in eight events upon graduation, and was the male recipient of the prestigious Anita L. DeFrantz Award.
As a senior co-captain in 2014, he led the Camels to their highest finishes at both the NESCAC Championship (3rd) and NCAA Championship (12th). At the 2014 NESCAC Championship he totaled a combined seven titles—three individual and four relay—and was named NESCAC Swimmer of the Year, as well as the NESCAC Four Year High Point Swimmer. He went on to win a national title in the 100 backstroke at the NCAA Championship and also finished as runner-up in the 100 butterfly, amassing All-America or All-America Honorable Mention honors in six events. His individual national title was the first in program history and the fifth all-time at Conn.
Gill, who also earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors in his final season, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in History. He worked in the Chicago office of Eze Software, a financial technology firm, before taking a position in San Francisco with Vonage, the enterprise cloud communications provider. In February 2023 he accepted the position of President and CEO of CASSCOMM, a leading communications provider in central Illinois.
