Caitlin Tomaska ’09 helped lead the volleyball team to new heights and establish the program as a perennial contender in the NESCAC for the foreseeable future. The outside hitter propelled the Camels to a 74-39 overall record and a .655 winning percentage along with four NESCAC Tournament appearances, including two trips to the semifinals, during her tenure between 2005 and 2008. Individually, Tomaska became the first player in program history to earn NESCAC postseason recognition every season by earning a place on the second team as a freshman and being named to the first team the next three seasons. She picked up 2005 NESCAC Rookie of the Year laurels, was selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week three times during her career and earned All-New England honors in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Tomaska graduated as the school record holder in kills (1,352) and digs (1,379), was selected to play in the 2008 NEWVA (New England Women’s Volleyball Association) Senior Classic and was the 2009 Anita DeFrantz award winner. Her program standard in digs still stands, and she also ranks second on the school’s all-time list for career service aces (196). Tomaska graduated with a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies and is currently the marketing director and sales team leader at R&I Coins.
