A four-year starter and three-year captain, Tom Fleming '84 averaged 15.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as a forward for the men’s basketball team.
 
Fleming is just one of seven players in the history of the program to surpass 1,200 career points. With 1,213 points, he ranks sixth on the program’s all-time scoring list. 
 
As a senior during the 1983-84 season, Fleming averaged a career-best 17.6 points per game to help lead Connecticut College to a then school record 21 wins and an appearance in the finals of the ECAC New England Division III Tournament.
