A leader and two-time All-American in the midfield, Chris Capone ‘97 racked up 174 points for the men’s lacrosse program, leading the Camels to a 47-17 record (.734) during his prolific playing career.

Capone and the Camels reached their pinnacle by winning the ECAC Division III Championship in 1996, posting a record of 13-3 (.813). At the conclusion of his junior campaign, Capone was honored as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American.

In his senior year, Capone was honored as a USILA Third Team All-American as the Camels advanced to the ECAC Semifinals for the second time in three years, posting a 10-5 mark.

Capone ranks sixth on the program’s all-time scoring list with 174 points. He is seventh on the Camels’ all-time list in goals scored (100) and ranks sixth on the program’s all-time list with 74 assists.

After graduation, Capone continued to support the program as an assistant coach for Head Coach Fran Shields for four seasons from 1999-2002. In 2001, Capone and the Camels posted an 11-6 record, reaching the semifinal round in the NESCAC Championship for the first time in program history.

Capone received his Bachelor’s Degree in Government in 1997 and earned his Master’s Degree from Connecticut College in Teaching & Social Studies in 2002.
