Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame
More than 10 years after graduating, Elizabeth Lynch Cheney '92 remains the all-time scorer for the Connecticut College women’s basketball program with 1,601 career points. A four-year starter at shooting guard, she led the team in scoring each season, graduating as the college’s all-time leading scorer, male or female, with numerous additional scoring marks.

Averaging 17.9 points per game throughout her career, Cheney scored in double figures in all but one game in her four years. She graduated with New England Division III records for career games scoring double figures (88 of 89 games) and consecutive games scoring double figures (76). The sharpshooter was named to the American Women’s Sports Federation’s All-America Freshman Team (1989), Second Team ((1990, 1991), and First Team (1992).
As a senior co-captain, Cheney was selected to the NESCAC All-Star Team, NEWBA All-Star Team, and the ECAC New England Second Team. She led Connecticut College to a four-year 70-23 overall record and trips to the ECAC New England Tournament in 1991 and 1992.

Since graduating from Connecticut College, Cheney has been an active part of the college’s Alumni Relations and Development Offices.
