Kim Holliday McElderry '97 proved to be one of the most talented and explosive field hockey players to have worn a Camel uniform. As a sophomore transfer from 1994, she helped lead the Camels to a three year 30-17-1 record. During her tenure, the field hockey squad qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament all three seasons, advancing to the championship game in 1995.

Starting all 48 career games as a forward, McElderry closed her career with 41 goals, five assists, and 87 points, breaking school records for career goals and points. Throughout her career, she earned numerous honors and awards. She was heralded as NESCAC Player of the Week several times. In 1994 and 1995, McElderry was named to the USFHA Regional All-America Team, followed by USFHA All-America Second Team honors in 1996.

As a senior, McElderry was the Camel squad’s Most Valuable Player, and she was selected to play in the North-South Senior All-Star Game. The prolific scorer earned national exposure when Sports Illustrated magazine tapped her for its Faces in the Crowd section in the spring of 1997.
