Tom Hudner ‘95 was a top multi-sport athlete who played a major role in the success of the men’s lacrosse and men’s soccer programs from the early to mid-nineties.

Hudner captained both of these highly successful programs. A starting goalkeeper for both squads, Hudner helped lead the men’s lacrosse program to 34 victories from his sophomore-senior seasons. The Camels were ranked as high as 15th in the nation.

From 1993-1995, Hudner helped lead the Camels to three consecutive appearances in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship. In the cage, Hudner was ranked among the top 10 nationally in save percentage.

Hudner graduated with and still holds records for saves in a career (671) and set a single-season record with 260 saves in 1994.

On the soccer field, Hudner helped lead the Camels to national prominence. The Camels posted back-to-back 13 win seasons in 1992 and 1993. In a historic 1992 campaign, Connecticut College finished with a 13-2-2 record to win the ECAC crown.

In 1993, Hudner led the Camels to the finals of the ECACs with a 13-3-1 record. He set single-season school records for shutouts (11), fewest goals allowed (8) and goals against average (.43 GAA).

At the conclusion of his senior year, Hudner received Anita DeFrantz ‘74 Award. It is given annually to the male and female members of the graduating class whose athletic ability, leadership and sportsmanship best exemplify the qualities of Olympic medalist Anita L. DeFrantz ‘74.

Hudner received his degree in English and Sociology-Based Human Relations.

Hudner presently serves as the Director of Advancement at the Fenn School in Concord, Massachusetts. He manages all fundraising, alumni and parent relations activities while overseeing a staff of six at the independent school.

In the community, Hudner serves on the Board of Directors at the Concord Art Association in Concord, Mass, coaches youth lacrosse and soccer and has volunteered with organizations serving underprivileged children and adults in the Greater Boston area.

Hudner is married to Jennifer Preuss Hudner ‘94. The couple has three children: daughters Lily and Reese and son TJ.
