Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Fame
Kevin Wolfe '88 was an exceptional goalkeeper for the Connecticut College men’s soccer program in the mid 1980s. As a four-year starter, he played in 55 career games, earning 484 saves, an.875 career saves percentage, and a 1.25 goals-against average. He graduated with school records for career shutouts (17) and season shutouts (7 in 1986).
Wolfe led the Camels to a four-year 34-23-1 record that included finishing as runner-up in the 1986 Easter College Athletic Conference New England Championship, a game that went into five overtime periods.
Wolfe earned numerous honors and awards during his career. He received the Camels’ Most Valuable Player Award in 1986 and 1987 and was a team captain as a senior in 1987. A three-time All-New England selection, Wolfe was named to the First Team (1986), Second Team (1985), and Third Team (1987). He also was a New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) All-Star for three seasons (1985-87) and received NCAA Division III All-America First Team honors in 1986.
The Dean’s List psychology major graduated and went on to train with Tottenham Hotspur, a English Premier League soccer club during the summer of 1988. He returned to the U.S. and became a starting player for the Lowell Blues, a semiprofessional Portuguese League club in New England, from 1989-1992. In 1991, he was selected to the All-Star Team for the Blues.
During this time, he earned and M.Ed. from Boston University in 1990.
In addition to semi-professional playing experiences, Wolfe was an assistant/goalkeeper coach at Tufts University (1989), Boston University (1990-1991), and Acton-Boxborough (MA) High School (1992). He also served as Director of Coaching and Clinics for Play Soccer, Inc. (1991) and was a goalkeeper trainer for the Massachusetts Olympics Development Program (1992).
Since 1993, he has worked as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in San Mateo, CA, while also volunteering in his children’s community soccer program (AYSO) in San Carlos.
Kevin and his wife, tennis and lacrosse standout Elizabeth McCullough Wolfe ’88, reside in San Carlos, CA and have three children: Katie (6), Lily (3), and Jake (1).
